B&K played host to more than 300 guests from the construction industry at a day geared towards improving on-site health and safety.
Held in conjunction with the HSE, the Health and Safety Awareness Day took place at B&K’s historically significant site at the Roundhouse, on Pride Park in Derby.
Visitors were split into morning and afternoon sessions and took part in short seminars, given by industry experts, on a range of topics including safe working at height, transport, PPE and slips, trips and falls.
The attendees were a mixture of Bowmer & Kirkland staff and operatives from sub-contractors from all over the UK.
Guests were welcomed by John and Robert Kirkland and there was an exhibition of trade suppliers with products aimed at improving the health and safety of construction workers.
Derby’s historic Roundhouse is being transformed by Bowmer & Kirkland for Derby College. The Grade II* Listed buildings are being renovated and will become the College’s flagship site offering a range of subjects to students including construction-related courses.
